College history
Authorized State Educational Institution LEPL College “Iberia” was established in 2006 on the basis of reorganization of the Kutaisi Sewing and Modeling Lyceum, and since 2007 the college was subordinated Baghdati Vocational School as a branch.
The College trains specialists in a variety of educational programs in business and administration, engineering, information and communication technologies, manufacturing and processing, personal services, and agriculture.
In addition to qualification programs, the college implements state programs for vocational training and retraining programs for job seekers, programs for the professional skills development in schoolchildren, for probationers. The teaching process is carried out by 56 professionally qualified vocational education teachers.
The administration of the Vocational College, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science and donor organizations, systematically takes care of improving the learning environment, raising the qualification of teachers, introducing advanced teaching methods and acquiring new professions.
At present, representatives of the governing body and almost all teachers (98% of teachers) have been trained by the trainings which were offered by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and international organizations. Including innovative and inclusive teaching, information technology, college management, development of programs and modules due to the new professional standards.
In addition to the main address (Kutaisi, Zurab Anjaparidze St. N61) the college carries out professional programs in the students dormitory building (Kutaisi, Nikea St. N15) and Baghdati branch (address: Baghdati, Shota Rustaveli St. N112).
In total, the college uses 6 buildings for its activities. Since 2006, all the buildings and material bases of the college have completely been rehabilitated. The college has 17 laboratories equipped with modern machinery and computer equipment.
In 2018, the rehabilitation works of the college dormitory for 70 students were completed, and a completely new 4-storey hotel building was built. All buildings are adapted to the conditions which are required for people with disabilities.
International organizations are involved in the implementation of educational programs and various educational activities. Since 2011, college vocational education teachers and students have been participating in internship programs implemented by vocational education institutions in Estonia and Poland.
